In this article we want to introduce you to Dominik Schwarz, the fourth member of the upcoming Travel Tech Tournament jury. Find out more about him and why he has decided to join our exclusive TOA.berlin satellite event.
Tell us a little bit about you? What is your background?
I’ve been in digital marketing for more than 15 years. My career started in the world of agencies and there I got quickly in touch with all possible traffic channels but ultimately specialized in SEO. At HomeToGo I run the Inbound Marketing Department and we work hard on our owned & earned media channels. I’m lucky to have a great team of international specialists on board and together we serve 17 different markets.
How did you land in the travel industry?
I started working for KAYAK in 2012 when the company was still relatively unknown in Europe. It turned out to be a perfect match & timing. And now I work again for a metasearch in travel, however, HomeToGo is in the exciting and fast growing vacation rental space.
Why have you decided to join the jury of the TTT?
Inspire and be inspired. Being a jury member offers the chance to meet people with a fresh perspective and a different approach to things. Regarding that Berlin is the place to be with a huge amount of start-ups and talents from all over the world. Something HomeToGo benefits from as well. We have a diverse team with over 150 employees from more than 25 different nations.
What do you expect from the event?
Interesting people to connect with.
What tips can you give to the start-ups entering the tournament?
Try to connect with as many people as possible during the tournament: jury members, speakers, guests, the person sitting next to you.
What is the worst thing to start the pitch with?
If you are thinking about an inspirational quote on a wallpaper with a nature image... Please keep brainstorming.
What is your favorite travel destination?
What is your travel tip / #travelhack?
Did you know Google Translate can translate text in images through your phone's camera? You just take a picture of a menu in a foreign language and you never have to risk an unpleasant surprise anymore.
Dominik, thank you very much. We are looking forward to seeing you at the event.
