Employee Spotlight – Shireen Raza-Abbas

It is time for another Employee Spotlight and we want to introduce you to Shireen Raza-Abbas.

Shireen, please tell us what you do at travel audience?
I have started here as an HR Business Partner and at this moment my focus is on Talent Acquisition.

How does this help the travelers?
Finding skilled employees in either traveling industry or in any other domain is a challenging task. By providing an amazing pool of talent for travel audience, our responsiveness towards the realisation of the needs of travellers will be easier.

Tell us about your background! 
Everybody starts small! I started my career with an Internship at Bombardier and after experiencing few things at a couple of different companies, I got my breakthrough with Axel Springer’s subsidiary Upday for Samsung. Everything that I know today about HR and Recruiting is thanks to upday.

What is your big project at travel audience? Your big challenge?
I am quite new at travel audience, so at the moment my biggest challenge is to hire diverse people for our more than 12 open positions. From working students positions to Senior Data Scientist job, I have a variety of job vacancies to fill efficiently.

Why did you choose travel audience?
Well I would say that travel audience chose me, and I just followed the path.

How long have you been living in Berlin?
I have been living in Berlin for about 6 years now.

And why did you choose Berlin?
My family lives in Leipzig, so my relocation reason was to be as close as possible to them.

What is your favourite travel destination?
I love going on big city trips such as London, New York and Dubai.

What is your travel tip / #travelhack ?
Always travel light.

What is the best thing about your job?
Dealing with people with diverse personalities.

What have you not told your colleagues?
I write poems in my native language “Urdu”.

What have you not told your colleagues?
I failed in Physics in my matriculation exam and I hate Physcis.
