Why did you choose travel audience?
After almost 4 years in Amadeus, I was ready for a change within the travel industry but at the same time I wanted to be able to learn new skills. travel audience was the perfect opportunity as the frontend stack is great, the products are quite different and the environment is highly multi-cultural.
How long have you been living in Berlin?
Almost 9 months
Why did you choose Berlin?
The decision was more or less because of travel audience, but I was encouraged by the fact that it had a growing tech-scene, and a low cost of living.
Tell us about your work with Amadeus. Do you have a lot of contact with your colleauges around the globe?
At Amadeus, I was working on their mobile airline solution, which is currently live for more about 40 airlines. We developed a lot of features that travelers use on a daily basis like finding tickets, selecting seats, mobile check-in. I worked with a highly talented team, and learnt a lot during my time there. It was also exhilarating to be able to see your hard-work live on the airline websites and being used by customers around the world. Yes, I am still in touch with a lot of colleagues in Bangalore and London.
What is your favourite travel destination?
Belgium! I love all the Belgian cities and how each of them is so different from one another in terms of architecture and culture. I also love Belgian waffles, chocolates and the small friteries everywhere!
What is your travel tip?
Plan in advance. Period. I have been able to get amazing deals on tickets and hotels, but a lot of that is possible because of planning at least three months before the trip.
What is the best thing about your job?
At travel audience, I have the chance to work with people from 24 different countries! That is absolutely mind-blowing, because working in such a multi-cultural environment exposes you to a lot of different cultures, and gives you all new perspectives on things.
